Skincare

You all know I’m big on skincare but short on time for self-care. What’s my answer?
A life-changing routine that is quick and effective.

Every morning, after cleansing and toning my face, I slap on Face Gym’s Youth Reformer and go to town with my gua sha. This nootropic vitamin C oil serum smells of Patchouli and Palo Santo, providing for calming Tulum-esque vibes. Even in the dead of winter, if I close my eyes and take a deep breath, I automatically am transformed to the sandy beaches and chill atmosphere of Mexico. I may never have time for a morning meditation, but this  rejuvenates my mind for the chaos of being a working mother of two young boys. Plus the anti-aging, hydrating, and radiance boosting properties make me look like I have gotten a full-night’s sleep.

After I moisturize, I spritz on Caudalie’s Beauty Elixir. I first read about this cult product from Magpie’s Jen Shoop, and wow, does it live up to its reputation. You can spritz it on your face before you apply make up, after you apply make up, or whenever you need a refresher throughout the day. Like FG’s Youth Reformer, the mix of invigorating essential oils is an instant mood-lifter. I just gifted this toner to my best friend and she was in shock at how this simple product can do so much! Quick tip, if you live in a warm climate, store in the refrigerator for even more of a pick me up!

Perhaps because I’m a slightly dramatic individual, I think a lot with my face. Like, all day long. I also feel like every day I wage the war against being  over-caffeinated and dehydrated. It is not a good combination. Frownies are another secret tool I use to help me appear more awake! Before bed, I slap one of these babies on in between my eyebrows and I wake up crease-free in the morning. They truly work!

Cooking

I may not be a visionary in the kitchen, and I generally leave all of the cooking to my husband, but when the season’s change I always feel inspired to try out some new recipes. Daphne Oz’s Eat Your Heart Out is just the right addition to my arsenal of cookbooks. Even considering the different taste buds and dietary restrictions in my household, nearly every recipe satisfies everyone so I don’t end up being a short order cook. The ingredients are uncomplicated and unfussy, so even when I’m playing trains with my four year old, navigating a cruising nine month old, and trying to follow a recipe, I manage to not screw anything  up! This is definitely a win in my house!

Organization

I crave organization in my life. Especially having two kids, it is necessary to flex some control in this category. I use these pouches for everything. Decanting toys, puzzles, important documents while traveling, etc. these clear pouches are exactly what you want.
